The tech giant Facebook spent over $22.6 Million in the year 2018 over his personal security. It has jumped up 4 times since the year 2016. Mark has drawn a salary $1 for three years and its compensation has cost $22.6 Million, according to the regulatory filing.
The company said that Zuckerberg received $10 Million for his standard personal security, and pre-tax allowance of $10 million this year “to cover additional costs related to Mr. Zuckerberg and his family’s personal security.” Mark has also received about $2.6 Million for “for costs related to personal use of private aircraft.”
The regulatory payment by Facebook defends its payment saying, “He is synonymous with Facebook and, as a result, negative sentiment regarding our company is directly associated with, and often transferred to, Mr Zuckerberg.”
The surge in the cost of Zuckerberg’s security rose after Cambridge Analytica that had wiped out $150 Billion from the Facebook market. The firm was hired by Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, obtained personal data from millions of Facebook profiles without consent. Recently, Netflix CEO Reed Hasting has vacated the seat from the Facebook board. Peggy Alford has come up as a nomination for the Facebook board after his departure.
It is believed that he departed the board due to the increasing interest of Zuckerberg in video streaming services. Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg took home $23.7m in 2018 compared to $25.2m last year.
Last month, the dreadful Newzealand’s Mosque attack drowned many of the people in utter shock. No one reported the live stream of the attack for the first 29 minutes.
Before Facebook was alerted to the footage, the company said: “a user on 8chan posted a link to a copy of the video on a file-sharing site”.
The company added that it had removed 1.5 million videos of the attack from its platform in the 24 hours after the deadly shootings – with 1.2 million of them blocked at the point of upload.
